Salvete, amici! Although interest was high at the start of the academic year, it has waned this spring. As we do not have enough students participating in the program, we will be canceling it for 2015.
We hope that we will be able to relaunch the program in the future, so check back regularly for more information, or contact Dr. Champagne (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Dr. Killgrove (email@example.com).
We’re excited that several students have applied to the program in the last two weeks. Interest is growing and the word is spreading around UWF. The deadline for applying and paying the application deposit is February 13.
If you’re interested in the program, go to http://uwf.abroadoffice.net/italy.html and read all about it. If you’re interested but don’t think you can afford the program, go to http://uwf.abroadoffice.net/cost.html to learn how to develop your budget and apply for financial aid and scholarships. An additional undergraduate scholarship is available, but the deadline is early in February. You must act fast! Come see Dr. Champagne about that opportunity.
Contact Dr. Champagne, firstname.lastname@example.org, or Dr. Killgrove, email@example.com, for more info!
The directors of the UWF in Rome Program, Drs. Champagne and Killgrove, are holding an information session on Tuesday, November 18th, at 5pm in Building 13 (Anthropology).
The information session will include a brief explanation of our goals for the program, how to sign up, and resources for funding a study abroad experience…. and pizza and soda! We also just want to answer questions from students about the program or about Italy in general.
Please take a minute to RSVP to the info session so we can make sure we have enough pizza for everyone.
Do click around this website, which has a growing amount of information about the project, including links to UWF’s Study Abroad Office and potential sources of financial aid and scholarships (up there under Tuition and Fees).
Thanks for your interest, and we hope to see you on November 18! Don’t hesitate to email us in the meantime if you have questions.
Last Thursday, Dr. Killgrove manned the info booth at UWF’s Study Abroad Fair. There was quite a lot of interest in the program, and we have collected close to two dozen names of people interested in the 18 spots that we have for the trip! If you missed the Fair, be sure to check out the links above to the syllabus and to the program information. There is additional info specific to students wanting to travel to Italy with us here through UWF’s international programs office.
We will be setting up an information session in mid-November for anyone who would like to know more about the classes, the trip, or the instructors. If you want to get on the email list, please contact Dr. Champagne (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Dr. Killgrove (email@example.com).
